FAQ

Is SHARE just for people who live in Wandsworth?
No, anyone can come to SHARE. SHARE is near Clapham Junction Station and several bus routes. People come from all over London.

What if I don’t like the training course I’ve chosen?
You can try another one! Some people divide their time between two or more of our training projects. It all depends on what you need.

Are all SHARE students disabled?
All SHARE students are disabled or face some kind of health-related barrier to employment. For example, some people have had to take a lot of time out of work and although their illness has cleared up, they face discrimination when looking for jobs. SHARE helps them to update their skills and get back into the habit of working. Other people have been disabled all their lives.

Are any of the staff disabled?
Yes, some SHARE staff are disabled.

How long can I stay at SHARE?
For people whose places are paid for by their social services departments, primary care trust or through direct payments, there is no time limit. You can stay for as long as you need us. For people on fixed term contracts, you will be told how long you can stay when you first join up. We encourage people to move on as they gain confidence and learn skills; however, some people choose to stay with us for a number of years.

How much does it cost to come to SHARE?
If you come through one of our contracts, your place is already paid for. Social services departments, health trusts, and other statutory bodies pay from £125 for a 3 day week. Discounts apply in certain circumstances – please contact Pam Dale for a copy of our pricing policy

Do I have to pay for food and drink while I’m at SHARE?
All refreshments, including lunch, are provided for a small fee.

Do I have to pay my fares to get to SHARE?
Most SHARE students are eligible for Freedom passes and do not have to pay for transport in London. Help with fares for other students may be available – talk with Pam Dale.
