Martin's Marathon Run

We are thrilled to announce that Martin Linton MP raised over £5000 for SHARE by running the Flora London Marathon on Sunday April 13th.  Even more impressive was that he managed it in a time of 4 hrs 29 minutes 8 seconds, beating his time from 4 years ago which meant  that he came 253rd in his age group!   Sadly he didn’t manage to beat Gordon Ramsey who we saw go past around the 3 hr mark...

The SHARE supporters were out in force at Canary Wharf , the nineteen mile mark, spurring Martin on, although to us he seemed full of energy Martin had a different view; ‘I’ve got to admit the last ten miles were sheer murder, running through rain and hail and knowing you’ve got to keep running or you’ll never make it.’

Our Chief Executive, Annie McDowall says 'Our local MP is quite extraordinary.  Martin Linton raised almost £5,000 for SHARE by running the London Marathon.  He trained for the year leading up to the race, and did magnificently on the day.  Thank you so much, Martin!  You are truly a friend to SHARE.'
