Students are encouraged to work at their pace and to work within the group to help develop knowledge and increase confidence. 

OCN-LR Pre-Entry IT qualification

An entry level portfolio based qualification designed to introduce students to the very basics of IT. 

CLAIT

CLAIT covers both essential office IT skills.  These include file management, spreadsheets, word processing, email, web design and presentations.   

Based on several of the key Microsoft Office programmes, this course will allow you to make efficient use of IT in the workplace.  CLAIT 1 covers the basics, CLAIT 2 looks at application, and CLAIT 3 is based on assessments of advanced skills in real work situations. 

ITQ 

ITQ courses are based on real work assignments, and include practical tasks such as letter and report writing, data input, merging data, presentation graphics, and systems management.  Students maintain their own portfolio, assessed by a member of the team. 

 

Qualifications

NPTC (Information Communication Technology Entry 1-3)

CLAIT (OCR Certificate/Diploma for IT Users Levels 1,2,3)

ITQ (OCR Level 1) NVQ for IT Users

 

The above skills can lead to careers in:

Offices, accounts, secretarial, data administration, reception and any administrative work that requires use of a PC.
