Employment guidance

Alongside their course students will be offered a range of employment and careers guidance training to support them on an individual basis in decisions about the future, preparing them for life after SHARE in the working world or for further education.

What we offer

Job Club

Students have access to up to date vacancies from all local and national newspapers.  Students use the internet to source vacancies and online applications.  The Employment Guidance Officer is on hand to help all students through the process.

Employment and Training Sessions

Weekly employment training sessions are dedicated to improving the application skills of students through practical and informal role plays and assessments.

One to One Sessions

If students are unsure as to what career or educational path to follow, they want some help with an application or just a general chat about jobs, they book a session with the Employment Adviser.

Work Placements

We have partnerships with several local employers to provide work placements for our students and are always looking to add to these so that we can suit each individual student's needs.

Post SHARE Support

Students receive continous support and monitoring for 13 weeks after they commence employment or further education, including a visit to see how they are getting on.  We are also on-hand to offer help and advice to our students whatever they go on to.
