SHARE Awards Ceremony 2009

On Tuesday 10th November 2009 SHARE Community held its Annual Awards Ceremony at the Civic Suite, Wandsworth Town Hall. The event provided the opportunity for staff, students and guests to celebrate the achievements of all SHARE’s students.
We were very privileged to have Lord Alf Dubs speak at the event. He is a Vice President of SHARE and an active member of the House of Lords.
Students were presented with the certificates and qualifications that they have worked towards over the last year by the Mayor or Wandsworth - Councillor Professor Brian Prichard, and SHARE Community’s Chair – Bec Emmott.
As well as the qualification certificates received by students, there are also special awards presented to those student’s who’ve excelled. Annie McDowall presented the CEO’s Awards, which were presented to one student form each project for outstanding achievement. There is also a special ‘Award for Perseverance; Outstanding Achievement in the Face of Adversity’, which is in memory of SHARE’s General Manager, Peter Jablonski, who sadly passed away in 2005 after a long battle with cancer. This award was presented by Bec Emmott, and this year it was a double award for students Jago Wilson and Mark Barnes.
The day is a really good chance for all those involved in SHARE to meet each other, from the Board of Trustees to the parents and carers of our students, to the social workers we work with. After the ceremony, everyone had a chance to catch up over a delicious lunch, which was prepared in part by SHARE’s students studying on the Basic Food Hygiene course.
