Derek and Sally run for SHARE

We’re really thrilled that this year, Derek Harrison and Sally Baker, have very kindly agreed to show their support for SHARE Community by running the 2009 London Marathon.

Derek is the son of Lily Harrison MBE. Lily is a local philanthropist who has worked with many different organisations in South West London and really made a difference in our community. An ex-board member of SHARE Community, Lily has continued to support us and has been involved with SHARE since it began in 1972. Lily, soon to be 85, is unable to run the marathon herself, but has kindly asked her son, Derek, to run on our behalf.

Sally Baker is also an experienced runner, having previously run a marathon in Germany.  Sally is the daughter of another SHARE Vice President, Rod Baker.  Our sources tell us that Sally has stated that this is her second marathon, but also her last!  We only found out this week that Sally is raising money for us so don't have a photo of her yet but you can still follow the link below to sponsor her.

With the help of the community in 2008, Martin Linton MP raised over £5000 for us which helped over 70 disabled people to gain qualifications, self-confidence and move towards their goals in life. Please consider showing your support for Derek and Sally to help us to improve the lives of more disabled people in South London this year.

If you are able to donate, please follow the link below and make your donation to Derek and/or Sally through the Just Giving website
