October 2014

During October, our social buddies supported 16 members to Go Anywhere and Do Anything! We did some sightseeing in London, sang like no one was listening at a special Frozen Sing-along, had a friendly bit of competition in the bowling alley and visited the once home of Henry VIII.

Remember, you can find out what we've got planned over the coming months by clicking here. Do get in touch if you'd like to get join us out and about in London.

Boat trip to Greenwich – 4th October

Go Anywhere Do Anything took to the Thames on a rainy Saturday afternoon, to take in the sights of the city. We braved the first of the autumn drizzle all the way to Greenwich, where we disembarked for a lovely cosy lunch with a view of the Cutty Sark. You'll see from the photos that we enjoyed the company of friends and Social Buddies, and brightened up the dreary day with lots of laughs. We were led on a walking tour of Greenwich Old Naval College by Trevor, before rejoining the guided boat tour back to London. We were welcomed back into the city with blue skies and sunshine, a perfect back drop to admire all the iconic sights from Tower Bridge to Westminster. As we left the boat Trevor summed up the day nicely 'That boat was good'. Check out the photos from the day here.

Bowling – 16th October

We headed to Kingston for another bit of friendly competition down the bowling alley. Well done to Peter and Roxanne who won their games, our bowling techniques are definitely improving!

Frozen Sing a Long – 25th October

Who doesn’t like a bit of Disney…?! Well at Go Anywhere Do Anything we are not shy about enjoying the things we love. So, we had a great time singing our hearts out at the Prince Charles Theatre’s interactive showing of Frozen. We couldn’t think of a better way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon than belting out some top Disney ballads (Let it Be!) with our friends at the cinema. Thank you to the Prince Charles Theatre for hosting the sing along event, it was great fun! Check out the photos from the day here.

Hampton Court Palace – 26th October

London is world famous for spectacular historical sites, and Laurence, a ‘Go Anywhere, Do Anything’ member, is making sure that we get to see the best of them. First on Laurence’s list - Hampton Court Palace.

Laurence led the charge into the grounds of Hampton Court, which was once home to Henry VIII and his Royal court. Today the various palaces and gardens are visited by thousands of tourists, hoping to discover more about life inside the famous palace. Historic enactments across the site help bring the stories of the royals who lived once there to life. Doris, Andrew and Laurence, Maitre and Ali were beckoned into the drawing room to listen the ghost story of Lady Grey, a spirit that haunts the corridors of the palace. Do have a look at all the photos from the day here.
