Do you want to help adults with learning disabilities have more autonomous control and understanding over their physical and mental health? We are looking for a committed Health and Wellbeing Facilitator to help people to become more confident in their own health and wellbeing, learning who in the community can support them with this, and having appropriate strategies to manage their health.
Share is a registered charity and a centre for training and wellbeing. We provide a range of programmes helping adults with learning disabilities, autism and other support needs become more happy, healthy, and independent. Our vision is a world where disabled people are fully included in society, living the life they choose, and we need talented people like you to help us make that happen.
Main responsibilities
- You’ll plan and deliver a programme of activities to support the students’ learning goals, health and social development
- You’ll deliver creative, challenging and engaging sessions both inside and outside of Share’s training centre
- You’ll support students’ learning and health needs and contribute to designing each student’s development plan
Who we’re looking for
- You’ve worked in a social care environment, ideally supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism
- You have facilitated interactive sessions that enable people to acquire new skills
- You’re a strong team-player and natural leader who enjoys working alongside others to achieve goals.
- You’re a skilled communicator, able to build trust and rapport with people from all backgrounds
- Most importantly, you’re passionate about helping disabled people enjoy more autonomy and you understand how to make this happen
