Dear
We’re launching a fundraising campaign to support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults move closer to meaningful, paid work and we'd love your support!
Only 5% of adults with a learning disability are in paid work. For autistic adults, it’s just 30%. Barriers such as limited opportunities, negative attitudes, communication challenges, and a lack of understanding about what disabled people can do with the right support, too often get in the way.
We’re working to change that by helping people build skills, grow confidence, and connect with supported employment specialists and inclusive employers.
Daniel's story:
Daniel is 24, loves music and playing guitar, and wanted a job that reflected his passions. Through our Steps into Employment programme, and with the support of our partners at Status Employment, he gained work experience at a record store in Brixton. He quickly impressed the team, and soon secured a paid job he’s incredibly proud of.
His story has been beautifully captured in a new short film created with the support of the Media Trust and the Santander Foundation, who worked closely with Daniel to help him share his journey in his own words.
You can watch the film on our campaign page here.
Our goal is to raise £5,000 to fund one student’s place on our Steps into Employment programme for a full year. Every donation, however big or small, makes a difference.
