What to expect when you arrive at Share HQ

As you arrive

As you approach Share you may be asked to queue if there lots of people arriving at the same time. Each arrival will then be called in to reception to sign in.

Reception looks a little different. You can see we have a Perspex screen on the desk and we will sign you in ourselves. We may ask you some health and safety questions, staff will direct you where to go.

There is a sanitising station in reception so you can sanitise your hands. There is a bin for the disposal of PPE.

Facemasks

Staff wear facemasks when moving around the building. We encourage students and visitors to do the same. You don't have to wear it if it is uncomfortable.

The canteen

We stagger lunchtimes to make sure that the canteen is not overcrowded. The room is laid out to allow for social distancing.  We will clean the tables and chairs between sittings.

Isolation room

The room which we used to call the 'Quiet room' is now the isolation room. This room will only be used by people who are feeling ill.

The lift

Two people can use the lift at any one time. Use the markings on the floor to stand to wait for the lift. There are also markings inside the lift so you know where to stand to aid social distancing.

 Blue room

The Blue room is a new project room - it used to be the office that Karen and Charlotte worked in. The room is laid out to allow for social distancing.

Green room

The Green room is a new project room - it used to be the office that Robert and Joe worked in. The room is laid out to allow for social distancing.

Yellow room

The room is laid out to allow for social distancing.

Orange room

The room is laid out to allow for social distancing.

Sanitising stations

There are three sanitising stations. One by the lift upstairs, one in the canteen and one in reception. Please use this to sanitise your hands regularly.

 Fewer touch points

Most doors will have a door guard - this means the door can be kept open and it will shut automatically if the fire alarm goes off. This means there are fewer touch points around the building.

Most doors will have a foot plate. This means you can use your foot to open the door instead of your hand. This means there are less touch points around the building.

Toilets

Only one student (and their carer) may use the toilets at a time. If the toilets are full, please wait outside.

New staff office

The old digital skills room is now the staff office.

New ventilation system

A key development to keep our building COVID-secure is the implementation of a new ventilation system, designed to ensure clean air flow through the building. We also regularly open the windows in all our teaching and activity rooms to allow for a good flow of fresh air through the spaces.
