We have a fantastic opportunity for a brilliant cleaner looking for flexible hours to join our bank staff and clean for us on an ad-hoc basis.

The role

You’ll be responsible for providing exceptionally high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in line with our coronavirus cleaning procedures. We have two sites, our headquarters in Clapham Junction and our garden in Tooting. We need people to come in ‘as and when’ required at either site. You’ll clean classrooms, offices, corridors, our canteen, the kitchen, the reception area, communal areas and toilets.

Job description

This position requires you to:

•    Disinfect and clean the toilets and wash basins, and replenish supplies including toilet paper and soaps

•    Sweep, mop, and vacuum the floors

•    Dust, polish and wipe the furniture, and remove marks from glass partitions and windows

•    Empty the waste bins and recycling, and take the waste to designated areas

•    Ensure the staff kitchen is kept clean, including loading and unloading the dishwasher

•    Maintain cleaning supplies and inform your manager when stock is low

•    Pay close attention to keeping high touch areas clean, ensuring they are disinfected regularly throughout your shift

•    Clean any spillages 

•    Help clear out clutter 

•    Handle chemicals and cleaning agents safely and keep them locked away

•    Complete odd jobs such as furniture assembly or fixing broken items 

•    Unlock the building securely and deactivate the alarm

•    Complete a daily cleaning log 

•    Report any maintenance problems to management

•    Help out in other ways that are reasonable

Person specification

We are looking for somebody who:

•    Has experience of cleaning in a commercial, domestic, retail or office setting 

•    Has excellent attention to detail and is able to clean thoroughly to a high standard

•    Is able to follow instructions and plan to effectively complete all tasks in the timeframe allocated

•    Is self-motivated and able to be flexible to changing needs

•    Is physically fit and capable of completing physically demanding work

•    Has honesty and integrity

•    Has a solid understanding of infection control and deep cleaning 

•    Understands health and safety regulations 

•    It would be a bonus if you have had experience of basic building maintenance, but it’s not essential
