Are you confident with using the latest mobile, PC and tablet technology? Would you like to gain some experience of teaching adults with disabilities? Some of our students have a learning disability; some may have physical disabilities, ill mental health or autism. We focus on what people can do, rather than what they cannot. You’ll be working in a friendly and relaxed environment with the support from the Digital Skills trainer and other volunteers.
Our ICT suite has 12 PC’s, and 5 iPads. We are equipped with Office and Adobe CS4 packages. We run classes Monday to Thursdays from 10am – 4pm and we are looking for volunteers who will enjoy working on a 1-1 basis with different students throughout the duration of the class.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for technology and can show our students what exciting opportunities it can provide. Our perfect volunteer would be a naturally curious, be able to use their own initiative and be friendly. You'll need to be able to get on well with people from a variety of backgrounds. It would be good if you are up to date on the latest developments and can take an innovative approach to showing our students how to make the most out of IT for their work and pleasure.
