Independent Living Volunteer

Are you looking for an opportunity to gain valuable experience in supporting people with disabilities? Would you like to help our students increase their confidence to live independently? Independent Living is one of most popular classes. We cover topics such as learning about the local area, how to travel safely around London, health, money, and managing personal relationships. Our students in life skills welcome volunteers into their lessons with open arms, and we can guarantee you’ll get a real buzz from doing such a rewarding role.

Our ideal volunteer will have a strong commitment to the inclusion of disabled people in all aspects of life. They will be reliable, punctual and patient. They'll be friendly, warm and supportive of people, and will have good listening skills. It would be a bonus if you have good ICT skills so as to be able to support students with their use of computers and iPads, but it’s not essential.

If you'd like to have a chat about the role or if you have any questions, Leanne would love to hear from you. You can contact her via email or telephone 0207 801 9825.
