Beautiful sunshiny community day for the launch of Share Nurseries

Official launch of Share Nurseries

Thank you to everyone in our local community who joined us earlier this month in the Share Garden in Tooting to help us celebrate the launch of Share’s gardening social enterprise, Share Nurseries.

The aim of our Plant Sale and Healthy Living Community Day was to promote healthy eating and exercise to help people live well and feel great. We live and work in a diverse community so it was wonderful for to see that the day brought together so many of our our students, their families and friends, local residents, healthy living service providers and local businesses to the Share Garden, a local resource nurtured by the community for the community.

It was a joy to see everyone for what was a beautiful (sunshiny!) fun day and everything we’d hoped for. Thank you to our local MP for Battersea and Shadow Minister for Disabled People, Marsha de Cordova, and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Jane Cooper, for doing the honours and 'cutting the ribbon' to officially declare Share Nurseries open.

Thank you also to all our kind sponsors – all local businesses in the Tooting area – for their support and commitment to Share over the years.

And, of course, special thanks to Bikeworks and Treblemakers for bringing bikes and a little song to the Share Garden.

Don’t forget Share Nurseries is now open Monday to Friday (except public holidays), from 9am to 3pm for plant sales, so come visit, find out more about how we are providing work-related opportunities for disabled people and buy a plant or two for your own green space!
