Share students to take part in new gardening project at the Windmill Gardens in Brixton

We’re delighted to be working in partnership with the Friends of Windmill Gardens (FoWG) and Urban Canopy to create a sensory garden, improve planting beds and create new vegetable planters at the Brixton Windmill Gardens.

Thanks to funding secured by FoWG from City Bridge Trust, the City of London Corporation’s charity funder, the three-year project will run from September this year until 2026. During this time our students will take part in a series of workshops and work alongside members of FoWG’s community club and volunteer gardeners. They’ll learn new gardening and teamwork skills and enjoy the benefits of working in nature.

The project will be further supported by a contribution from Share in the name of former CEO Annie McDowall. Annie chose the sensory garden project as the winner of an inaugural award in her name, presented to our Out and About students at Share’s student awards ceremony last year.
