Share students win awards in the Wandsworth Art Competition

Big congratulations to our art students who won TWO awards in the Wandsworth Art Competition, run by Wandsworth Council to recognise the talent and creativity of people with learning disabilities.

Our students were presented with engraved glass awards, vouchers and certificates by Cllr Simon Hogg at a special ceremony in the Council Chambers. Their beautiful artwork will be on permanent display at Wandsworth Town Hall for everyone to enjoy. Students are rightly very proud of their achievements, as are we!

Share students shine in ‘In The Mix’, an exhibition featuring disabled artists

We’re all about art this month! As well as winning the Wandsworth Art Competition, three of our art students have had their work featured in a special exhibition at Block 336 in Brixton.

Cally, Rehan and Carla took part in a series of mentoring workshops aimed at disabled artists. This culminated in an exhibition of work made in partnership with Disability Advice Service Lambeth (dasl) and curated by Naomi Fitzsimmons for Block 336.

We were delighted to attend a special Share day at the gallery for students and staff to appreciate the beautiful and compelling works.

New events aimed at tackling health inequalities through welfare benefits support

We’re running a series of free events as part of an initiative funded by NHS SW London and managed by Wandsworth Care Alliance to prevent health inequalities by helping people to live well and stay well.

The events are designed to empower people with learning disabilities and autism with the knowledge and resources necessary to navigate the welfare system effectively, thereby improving their health.

Adults with learning disablities and autism, their families and carers, and social care professionals are all welcome to join us.
