Cheryl is our new student fundraising representative. She'll be working with Natalie, our Community Fundraiser, to help raise money for Share, and recently helped to run one of our pop-up festive markets. We asked Cheryl some questions about her new role:
How long have you been coming to Share and what do you usually do at Share?
Eight years, since Tuesday 18th August 2015. Help out on reception on Friday morning. Independent Living Skills with Claire my tutor. Go to the [student] voice meeting that Joe does on a Friday. Go to the GADA [Go Anywhere, Do Anything) hangout on a Saturday that Joe organises.
Why did you want to be a fundraising rep at Share?
Because I want to get students involved in how to raise money for Share.
Have you had any ideas about fundraising?
Well I have asked students about how to raise money. Natalie gave me the sheet for it and I've been asking students how we are going to raise money for Share.
What do you enjoy about being the student fundraising rep?
When Natalie is going to do the abseiling for students. I've enjoyed getting all the students involved. When Natalie comes again she is going to sort out doing leaflets for the fundraising and I will be giving them out. We are going to work together. |
