Support our ‘get fit’ marathon fundraiser

In homage to the London Marathon that takes place this month, our Health and Wellbeing students are tracking their steps as a group to complete the distance of a marathon and raise vital funds for our charity.

Students got off to a flying start earlier this month, taking part in relay races and boxing. Using pedometers to track progress they’ll be playing basketball, doing circuit training and taking part in a variety of sports activities during their weekly sessions.

Please donate today to show your support for their amazing efforts to stay fit and healthy, and help us continue to provide innovative sessions like these!

New funding to create green spaces at the Black Prince Community Hub

Connecting with nature makes us feel better! We’re excited to be chosen as one of the 100 community nature projects across the UK to receive funding from The Nature Hubs Fund to create new green spaces. Our horticulture students will share their gardening know-how with catering students at the Black Prince Community Hub in Vauxhall. They’ll be renovating wooden planters and growing herbs, vegetables and flowers. We aim to increase access to nature for our students and the local Lambeth community, plus we’ll be able to use the herbs and veg in our cooking at the onsite Share Community Café!

Our students raise £375 for Share by hosting a pop-up market

Our Steps into Employment students hosted a pop-up market at We are 336 in Brixton, selling gifts and plants to the public. It was a great opportunity to connect with our community and for students to learn about customer service and employability skills.

Speaking about the event, Steps tutor Emily said, 'It was great to see the students interacting with customers and events like this are so much more beneficial than being in the classroom all day!'

Thank you to Waitrose

A huge thank you to Waitrose in Balham who recently donated £750 as part of their Community Matters Scheme that currently supports local charities promoting education and employability. Their charity coordinator got in touch to find out more about the Share Garden after seeing us on social media, and was very impressed with our horticulture training programme. Share's Garden Manager Florence was delighted to go and meet Anthony, the store manager, to say thank you in person. The funds will help us to continue this vital work with our students, opening up career opportunities and helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.

Make a regular donation to Share

You could make a big difference to our work with just a small monthly gift. We rely on donations to deliver the range and quality of services essential to support disabled adults to have more choice and independence.

  • Just £5 per month means we can buy seeds for five students to create a salad garden as part of their horticulture course.
  • £10 a month pays for two students to create hygiene and safety portfolios as part of our catering course.
  • And £30 pays for the examination fees for an accredited course for one student.

Regular giving in this way is vital to help charities like Share. Guaranteed income from monthly givers means we can plan and invest in our services longer term, providing more programmes and support for disabled people and their families.
