It's been a scorching hot summer so far! We do hope that everyone is managing to stay cool and safe. Despite the heat, we've been busy at Share, from cheering on our students at Wimbledon and enjoying our summer supper club, to celebrating another successful sports day and seeing our horticulture students put their skills into practice at a community plant sale.

Share students work at the Wimbledon Championships

It was an incredible couple of weeks for Share students who worked at The Championships this summer through Work at Wimbledon, an initiative run by the Wimbledon Foundation that offers supported pathways into employment for people facing barriers to work.

Shammah returned to the retail team in the No. 1 Court Shop, while Joe returned to the Guest Services team, working at the gates in Southern Village. Michael joined Joe in the Guest Services team in his first paid role.

Supper club goes from strength to strength

Our supper clubs are always a highlight, giving our Community Café students the chance to showcase the skills they've been developing while bringing together families, carers, volunteers, and partners. This summer's BBQ was our fourth supper club event, serving up great food, mocktails, and plenty of smiles. Another wonderful evening celebrating everything our students can achieve.

Summer sports day fun

Our students had a brilliant day in the sunshine at Clapham Common for another fantastic sports day organised by our wonderful neighbours at Brand Brewery. Take a look at some of our favourite moments in our photo gallery courtesy of our esteemed volunteer photographer Steve, who came along to capture some of the fun!

Volunteer with us

We're always on the lookout for volunteers to support our work. There are lots of ways to get involved. You could work alongside our tutors to support students in one of our many daily programmes, including drama, sports, catering, digital skills and more. You could become a social buddy or befriender through our social inclusion projects. If your employer offers corporate volunteering, why not suggest Share for your next team day? Whatever your skills or the time you can offer, we'd love to hear from you.
