We’re grateful to the wonderful team at SEND Coffee for an inspiring day of barista training for our Steps into Employment students. 

Vincent, Ummair, Shanade, Gifty, Ru, Paula and Nigel spent the day at the Clarnico Club in East London, learning all about making a great cup of coffee and getting hands-on experience with professional barista equipment. They started with a theory session covering the technical details about weights, measurements and extraction before getting behind the machine to put their learning into practice. 

Steps into Employment is part of our employability and training pathway, helping students build practical skills and confidence as they prepare for the world of work. Having the chance to learn from people with real experience in the industry makes this kind of training particularly valuable. 

We’re lucky to have a barista machine in our Community Café, where students can keep practising their skills and gain experience serving customers.
