Community café

We run a free food service in partnership with the Black Prince Trust to support Lambeth residents adversely affected by the cost-of-living crisis. Students help to prepare, cook and distribute nutritious meals from a refurbished community café at the Black Prince Community Hub in Vauxhall.

Taking part in the project:
  • Encourages active citizenship - supporting the community during a difficult time leads to a sense of pride and achievement
  • Helps students feel a part of the community and encourages them to develop their social skills as they connect with local residents
  • Develops hospitality and catering skills, providing valuable work experience which could lead to future employment opportunities

Our aim for the future is to open the café to the public, providing further catering and hospitality training to help our students move on to find longer-term employment.
