Who we are

Share Community is a registered charity dedicated to empowering adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs to live happier, healthier, and more independent lives.

Founded in 1972, we now work with around 170 people per year, primarily from the London Boroughs of Wandsworth, Lambeth, Southwark, Croydon, and Merton, although we accept residents from any borough. Our head office is near Clapham Junction and we have additional sites in Tooting, Brixton, and Vauxhall.

We focus on expanding choice and control for every student through inclusive programmes and activities that promote personal development and independent living skills. For those seeking specific job training, we also offer vocational courses leading to recognised qualifications.

And our social enterprises in catering and horticulture give students the opportunity to gain practical work skills in a safe, supportive environment while providing valuable services to the community.

At Share, we strive to create a nurturing and welcoming space where students can gain confidence, form friendships, and develop essential life skills. We aim to foster a sense of belonging, ambition, and self-worth.

Every person is unique, and we celebrate that by tailoring our support to each student’s needs, interests, and aspirations. Recognising that our students are the experts in their own lives, we focus on self-advocacy, working closely with them — and their families and support networks — to help them work towards their personal goals.
