Staff Benefits

We work hard to provide a working environment that helps our employees to learn and grow in their roles, and supports their health and wellbeing.

As well as the chance of working with an inspiring, friendly and committed team, we offer a range of benefits to help our employees be happy and productive.

Benefits for Share employees

Generous holiday allowance

We offer all staff an enhanced annual leave allowance starting at 36 days* inclusive of statutory bank holidays. This breaks down as 25 days (five weeks) of bookable leave, eight statutory bank holidays, and three additional days of paid leave between Christmas and New Year.

Annual leave entitlement increases by one day for each completed year of service up to five years (this is pro-rata for part-time staff).

Plus, every employee has an extra day off for their birthday! If your birthday falls on a weekend, you can take a day off the week following or the week after (this is pro-rata for part-time staff).

*The above figures assume a full-time employee working five days per week. Part-time employees receive a pro-rata entitlement.

Employee Assistance Programme for employees and their families

Employee wellbeing is at the core of Share’s employee offering. In order to support our ambition to have a happy, healthy workforce we've invested in an Employee Assistance Programme which is free, confidential, and accessible 24/7. This service offers employees a safe space to discuss any of their personal or professional challenges that may negatively impact their work performance and mental health, and includes short-term counselling, legal advice, and financial guidance.

This provision is also available to families of employees.

Pension

Share enrols eligible employees into a defined benefit (DB) pension scheme to help plan for retirement.

Employees are required to pay 5% of salary into the pension each month, and Share will make a further 5% contribution too.

Headspace subscription

All our employees, along with their families, have free access to Headspace, a science-backed wellbeing and mindfulness app.

Headspace provides unique tools and resources for everyday life, including meditation, sleepcasts, mindful movement and focus exercises to help reduce stress, build resilience, and help you sleep better.

Season ticket loan

We offer interest-free season ticket loans to employees for periods of up to twelve months.

Season ticket loans are available for the purpose of purchasing an annual season ticket for use for travel between home and work. Purchasing an annual season ticket to cover travel costs is generally cheaper than purchasing monthly or weekly tickets, and the loan makes the cost of an annual ticket more manageable by allowing repayment over 12 monthly instalments. The season ticket loan is available to cover public transport costs, but is not available to cover other transport related costs (for example, car parking costs at rail stations).

Cycle to work scheme

We offer a Cycle to Work scheme to support employees wishing to invest in a healthier and more environmentally sustainable method of commuting to work.

Loans are available to support the purchase of a bike and accessories for eligible employees* who can then make repayments over a period of months rather than paying the whole cost up front. This is a 'salary sacrifice' employee benefit meaning the value of these items is deducted from an employee's gross salary (before tax), reducing taxable income and saving money on Income Tax and National Insurance (NI).

*This benefit is available to all permanent employees who have passed their probation and been confirmed in post.

Flexible working (if position allows)

Share is committed to promoting a healthy work-life balance. With this in mind, we support and encourage flexible working for staff, including flexibility around start and finish times, and opportunities for home and remote working (where it is feasible for the role).

I most appreciate the ethos and atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoy the structure of the organisation and management, hierarchical politics never feel present which makes it much easier to reach out to management and colleagues.
