Citizenship (coming soon)

Our new Citizenship programme supports young people aged 18–30 with a learning disability and/or who are autistic, who have recently moved to Share from college or a similar setting.

The programme is also suitable for young people who are interested in employment but would like extra support before starting a supported internship or similar opportunity.

The course aims to complement college courses and students' learning journeys to date, while providing a clear progression pathway from college to adult learning.

Students take part in structured learning units that will help them plan their next steps. Topics covered include:

  • Employment and volunteering
  • Digital skills and online safety
  • Friendships and community connections
  • Independent living
  • Health and wellbeing

Learning themes throughout the course include:

  • Rights and responsibilities
  • Democracy and government
  • Active citizenship
  • Community engagement
  • Global issues

Our approach

Sessions are practical, interactive, and creative, with opportunities to work towards an accreditation.

All activities are designed to build confidence, develop skills, and support students to move towards their goals and future aspirations.
