Our new music production course gives students the chance to learn DJing and music production in a fun, supportive and creative environment.
Students will explore DJ equipment and music production software, learning how to mix tracks, create their own music and develop their confidence as performers. They’ll be encouraged to experiment, share ideas, discover new music and develop their own musical style.
Students learn about:
- Using DJ decks, samplers and sequencers
- Recording, editing and manipulating sounds
- Finding, selecting and organising music
- Mixing tracks and creating DJ sets
- Using music production software and apps
- Planning and preparing performances
- Exploring different musical genres and artists
- Sharing music through digital platforms and social media
- Listening, communication and teamwork
- Building confidence and performance skills
Our approach
Students are supported to learn at their own pace according to their individual needs. Through a mixture of group activities and tailored learning, they’ll develop technical and creative skills while building confidence and independence.
The course encourages students to see themselves as artists and performers. They’ll have opportunities to create original music, collaborate with peers, broaden their musical tastes and, where appropriate, perform at Share and in the wider community. We also plan to work with specialist partners to provide inspiring experiences and enhance learning throughout the course.
