Share students help to celebrate Wandsworth through song
Some of our music students recently took part in a wonderful project led by composer Aga Serugo-Lugo, who collaborated with community and healthcare groups across Wandsworth to co-create a brand-new song. The piece celebrates the borough’s diverse communities and proves that singing is for everyone.
The Wandsworth Corner Shop tells the story of different people coming together, connecting, and sharing their experiences of life in Wandsworth. Our students were thrilled to contribute and they star in a new music video that captures the joy of singing together. Everyone had so much fun learning the songs by using call-and-response singing and creating dance moves inspired by the lyrics. There was so much energy, confidence, and joy in the room.
This is part of Wandsworth Council's Sing to Thrive, a project that highlights the social and health benefits of singing while providing performance opportunities for groups across the borough.
