Do you want to help adults with learning disabilities develop skills to access their community safely and independently? We are looking for a part-time Community Services Facilitator to plan and facilitate some of our community activities at our Clapham and Brixton sites. You will help people to become more confident about accessing their community independently, learning where they can go in the community to access a range of social, learning and employment opportunities.

Share is a registered charity and a centre for training and wellbeing. We provide a range of programmes helping adults with learning disabilities, autism and other support needs become more happy, healthy, and independent. Our vision is a world where disabled people are fully included in society, living the life they choose, and we need talented people like you to help us make that happen.

Main responsibilities

  • You’ll plan and deliver a programme of community-based activities offering spaces outside of Share, ensuring sessions are creative, challenging and engaging
  • You’ll work with our community partners and work in collaboration with them and students to identify and deliver a variety of trips and opportunities for student learning
  • You’ll expand our local community networks by identifying and developing partnerships and opportunities with businesses and like-minded organisations.

Who we’re looking for

  • You have experience in facilitating interactive community-based projects and/or activities
  • You’ve worked with disabled people from diverse communities, including those with learning disabilities and autism, in an empowering way
  • You’ve planned schemes of work and project activities and have experience in achieving targets with good attention to detail
  • Most importantly, you’re passionate about helping disabled people enjoy more autonomy and you understand how to make this happen.

We have robust policies in place so that every single person working at Share takes ownership of making our programmes come to life.

We’ve been praised for our supportive working environment where everyone has a voice and is valued. You’ll be surrounded by people who support you, challenge you, and inspire you.
