Are you able to use music as a tool to communicate? We are looking for a dedicated music tutor to deliver music training to disabled adults, most of whom have learning disabilities and autism. You will help to facilitate a positive change to student’s confidence, motor skills and esteem during music classes.

Share is a registered charity and a centre for training and wellbeing. We provide a range of programmes helping adults with learning disabilities, autism and other support needs become more happy, healthy, and independent. Our vision is a world where disabled people are fully included in society, living the life they choose, and we need talented people like you to help us make that happen.

Main responsibilities

  • You’ll develop, plan and deliver a curriculum of music activities to support the students’ learning goals and social development
  • You’ll source resources suitable for delivery, including using our state of the art Immersive Learning Space
  • You’ll support students’ by tailoring your communication style based on differing students’ needs

Who we’re looking for

  • You’ll have experience of providing training or music therapy to adults with learning disabilities and autism
  • You will have Grade 8 in voice or instrument
  • You can motivate and empathise with disabled people and those facing long term health problems
  • You’re a strong team-player and natural leader who enjoys working alongside others to achieve goals
  • You’re a skilled communicator, able to build trust and rapport with people from all backgrounds
  • Most importantly, you’re passionate about helping disabled people enjoy more autonomy and you understand how to make this happen
