Share students develop employability skills at Crystal Palace Football Club

Recently Crystal Palace Football Club kindly provided the use of a room and kiosk for our students to practise employability skills.

We want people with a learning disability and autistic people who want to work to have the opportunity to do so. Steps Into Employment is an established programme at Share designed to give our students an introduction to the workplace and the routes towards sustainable employment, whether paid or voluntary.

Students on the programme were given the opportunity to explore the range of roles in operation at the club, such as chefs, receptionists, cleaners, catering staff, and porters. Students also had the chance to try out some roleplay around what might happen on a typical match day, practising customer service skills, like making and serving hot drinks.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Crystal Palace F.C. who were incredible hosts, even allowing us a peek at the dugouts and a chance see the pitch up close.
