Share's new immersive learning space – a special interactive room that uses wraparound video and sound to enhance learning – has been installed.
This project forms a key part of Share's digital transformation strategy, which aims to make the most of all aspects of technology within Share's work by giving our students access to wide-ranging technologies to revolutionise the way they live, learn and communicate.
The immersive learning space, designed and supplied by 4D Creative, provides a creative learning environment to help students explore different subjects in a practical way that suits them best, whether it be through visual prompts, video or sound.
The system is based on a number of themes, which can be loaded to teach day-to-day skills aimed at improving independence as well as other subjects within our curriculum.
We are extremely grateful to the Ian Karten Charitable Trust, the Wolfson Foundation and the Beatrice Laing Trust, as well as the legacy left to Share by the late Mr John P Heron for funding the project and making our immersive learning space a reality.
Our immersive learning space is also available for hire to others in the community. For more information, contact Robert Boyce via email robertb@sharecommunity.org.uk or telephone 020 7801 9815.
